Enjoy the charm of this sweet “Tea for Two” baby shower! With vintage tea sets, modern games, and heartfelt moments, this fete was such a joy to attend. We showered the momma-to-be with love, laughter, and gifts over sweet tea—and now we can’t wait to welcome Baby Smith into the world!

Majority of the photos were captured by Jessika, one of the momma-to-be’s best friends. Please follow Jessika’s photography account on Instagram (@jessikanikolephotos) to support her art!

Baby Shower Theme: Tea for Two
Menu
Guests were welcomed with a refreshing drink upon arrival. Sweet and unsweet iced tea were served from dispensers, alongside a cheerful mimosa bar. Although sipping tea from teacups would suit a tea party, this celebration took a creative twist. Vintage teacups were instead filled with an assortment of cheeses, crackers, nuts, and fruits.

Three-tiered crystal stands showcased an assortment of baked treats, including jam-filled shortbread cookies and mini muffins. The bottom tier featured a savory selection: delicate cucumber tea sandwiches and croissants filled with chicken salad.

Guests enjoyed fresh vegetables with ranch, sourdough bites paired with spinach dip, ripe strawberries, and homemade deviled eggs.

Iced sugar cookies shaped like teacups, teapots, and baby onesies—handmade by @chelles_cookies—were served as dessert or offered as a sweet take-home treat.

Decor
The front door greeted guests with a wooden “Tea for Two” sign, accompanied by a cheerful note: “Please let yourself in!” Just inside, a welcome table featured a coordinating sign and thoughtful party favors—handmade soaps tucked into organza drawstring pouches.

The open-concept living space was adorned with balloons in white and soft shades of blue. Tables were styled with taper candles, fresh flowers, and vintage teacups with matching china, all adding to the charming ambiance.

Games
There were a few games offered throughout the afternoon, but one stood-out as the highlight. It was a spin on the classic “pin the tail on the donkey” party game. One of the momma-to-be’s close friends made a tri-fold display board for the game.

She created a display with a blank baby face in the center and two armholes cut near the bottom. Guests were encouraged to make facial features (eyes, nose, mouth, etc.) from construction paper, then take turns standing behind the board and reaching through the holes to assemble a face—without seeing what they’re doing! Each participant had 30 seconds to complete their masterpiece. We snapped photos of the hilarious results, and had the momma-to-be choose the winner.

We played three paper games: 1. Guess the Song – All Things Baby, 2. Mom or Dad?, & 3. Family Traditions. The linked versions are not the exact format we played since ours were created by the same friend that made the baby face game!

We were allowed to begin the Family Traditions and Mom or Dad? games as soon as we received our game cards. Family Traditions was less a game and more a way to give fun advice to the new parents. Mom or Dad? was a custom version of the game asking questions like “Who do you think will cry more at the hospital?” where the participant’s guessed whether the parents thought mom or dad would cry more, etc.
The Guess the Song – All Things Baby! music game was hard! There were songs from all genres and all eras, but everyone had either a title or lyrics around the theme of “baby”. Some of us were so terrible at guessing the songs we couldn’t help but laugh!

Timeline
The celebration was just getting started when I arrived—early for once! To my surprise, many of the out-of-town guests were already there, and the room was buzzing with mingling and warm reunions.

Guests were invited to enjoy food and drinks at their leisure. Once everyone had a chance to greet, eat and settle into the space, some paper games were brought around for us to begin filling out.

After a joyful afternoon filled with laughter, the celebration began to wind down. Before departing, guests captured lasting memories with the momma-to-be in a sweet photo moment. Cathy, the momma-to-be, opened gifts with her family after everyone else had departed. Twas a perfect day!
