Instrumental Songs for Walking Down the Aisle (Processional)

A Thousand Years by The Piano Guys, or Brooklyn Duo

Contemporary – Piano & Cello Instrumental
Originally by Christina Perri, this song talks about overcoming fear in love, despite the uncertainty of falling for someone. The song emphasizes a love that has lasted through time. The lyrics are a pledge to love their partner for a thousand years and beyond. The Piano Guys and Brooklyn Duo are both fantastic at capturing this beautiful song through piano and cello instrumental covers.

Canon in D by Brooklyn Duo

Classical – Piano & Cello Instrumental
Pachelbel’s Canon in D was composed in the late 1600s by Johann Pachelbel. Its timeless appeal and graceful sound have cemented Canon in D as one of the most iconic wedding songs. The Brooklyn Duo captures this piece’s serene, elegant structure and uplifting tone perfectly, making it a natural fit for weddings.

Turning Page by Daniel Jang

Contemporary – Violin & Piano Instrumental
Originally by Sleeping At Last, this violin and piano instrumental cover is breathtaking. It almost feels like it could have been in Bridgerton! With the lyrics, this song speaks of the love a couple shares feeling like a turning point in their life, where every moment—every kiss and touch—feels meaningful and powerful.

Goodness of God by Cathy Swan

Christian – Piano & Violin Instrumental
This one is primarily a piano instrumental cover version of this beautiful song. Should you opt for the full song below, these lyrics express a deep, heartfelt gratitude and love for God. Although the song is speaking to God, lines such as “Your goodness is running after, it’s running after me” are sometimes interpreted as speaking about the love between a couple. Bethel Music and Jenn Johnson originally produced this devout song.

Here Comes The Sun by Brooklyn Duo

Pop Rock – Piano & Cello Instrumental
The Brooklyn Duo again makes the list with their piano and cello instrumental version of this song originally by The Beatles. With the lyrics, this song conveys a sense of renewal and hope. It represents a positive shift and comfort brought by the sun.

Celtic Folk – String Quartet
“Concerning Hobbits” is a cheerful and iconic piece of music composed by Howard Shore for the 2001 film The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. The music itself is upbeat, with a folk-like melody. The theme’s lively, rhythmic patterns mirror the jovial spirit of the Hobbits and their love for simple pleasures like food, drink, and community.

Songs with Lyrics for Walking Down the Aisle (Processional)

Again, here is the link to these songs on Spotify: 2025 Walking Down The Aisle Wedding Songs.

I Get to Love You by Ruelle

Alternative/Indie – Piano Background – Feminine Voice
This one received the most votes when I took a poll on Facebook! It is a personal favorite and the song I (Jenni) walked down the aisle to in 2020. These lyrics express deep gratitude and commitment in a relationship. The repeating phrase “I get to love you” signifies a sense of privilege in being able to love one’s partner forever. The song highlights a deep emotional connection between two people who now feel complete and thankful.

You Are the Reason by Olivia Penalva, or Callum Scott

Pop / Contemporary – Piano Background – Feminine (Olivia) or Masculine (Callum) Voice
This one is originally by Callum Scott, and although his version is fantastic, the grace added by Olivia Penalva’s voice makes this one canon. These lyrics express a desperate longing and emotional vulnerability. Ultimately, the song is a heartfelt plea about someone willing to go to great lengths—climbing mountains and swimming oceans—to be with the person they love.

Biblical by Calum Scott

Pop / Contemporary – Piano Background – Masculine Voice
This ballad expresses intense love and devotion, with the narrator describing how deeply they feel for their partner. They promise unwavering support, vowing to help their partner through difficult times. The phrase “your love is biblical” emphasizes the profound, almost divine nature of the love they share.

You Are In Love (Taylor’s Version) by Taylor Swift

Always choosing “Taylor’s Version” for her songs, Swift describes the quiet, subtle moments that define a deep, true love. It’s a celebration of true love, marked by genuine connection and devotion.

Can’t Help Falling In Love by Kina Grannis

Soft Rock – Acoustic Guitar Background – Feminine Voice
Originally performed by Elvis Presley, these lyrics express the narrator’s deep, uncontrollable love for someone. Despite the advice that “only fools rush in,” they can’t resist falling in love. They are willing to give their whole heart and life to their partner, fully embracing their feelings without hesitation or fear. The song is a beautiful declaration of unconditional, destined love.

Work Song by Hozier

Alternative/Indie – Piano Background w/ Drums & A Cappella – Masculine Voice
These lyrics describe a deep, passionate love and a sense of redemption. Hozier reflects on his intense feelings for his lover, who brings him so much joy and sweetness that he can barely contain it. The love he feels is so powerful that it overcomes his past and gives him a renewed sense of purpose and devotion.

Goodness of God by The Worship Initiative, Shane & Shane, Bethany Barnard

Christian – Piano Background w/ Drums & Guitar – Feminine & Masculine Voices
This version with a piano intro plus chores harmony between Bethany Barnard and the masculine voices of Shane & Shane is just chef’s kiss. Although the song is speaking to God, lines such as “Your goodness is running after, it’s running after me” are sometimes interpreted as speaking about the love between a couple. The original by Bethel Music and Jenn Johnson, as well as the more recent award nominated CeCe Winans version, are beautiful as well!

The Vow by RuthAnne

Folk – A Cappella & Piano Background – Feminine Voice
In this song, RuthAnne expresses a deep, enduring love that transcends time and challenges. It’s a vow to love their partner forever, even in the face of aging and life’s inevitable changes. The partner is the reason they find purpose and motivation. Their love is seen as constant, unshaken by the passage of time or material things. It’s a heartfelt declaration of unconditional love and commitment.

Standing together now, they acknowledge that the wait was worth it. They would go through everything again to be with them.

Marry Me by Train

Soft Rock – Acoustic Guitar & Piano Background – Masculine Voice
There are quite a few songs with this title, but Train’s lyrics and tune are the best for walking down the aisle, IMO. These lyrics speak about how time with their loved one feels too short and a longing for closeness and connection. The repeated request to “marry me” reflects their longing for a lifetime together, filled with love, happiness, and devotion.

With a deep sense of gratitude and appreciation for life, love, and the present moment, this one could become a wedding regular. My Tears Are Becoming A Sea by M83

Synth-Pop – Soft Electronic & Orchestra Background – Masculine Voice
With very limited lyrics, this one could almost be considered an instrumental. However, the lyrics it does have are perfect for walking down the aisle! “I’m slowly drifting to you…I’m on my way.” For maximum effect, have the bride reveal at timestamp 1:11 before proceeding down the aisle. Fill the time before this reveal with the little helpers like flower girls and ring bearers.

The narrator is deeply infatuated, not just with the person’s outward beauty, but with the deeper, hidden aspects of their soul.
